According to the dispatch, due to the complicated development of the pandemic, on April 29, Vietnam recorded seven new community infection cases of COVID-19, including five in Ha Nam province, one in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City.
Under Dispatch No.03/DD-CT, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh ordered all people to wear face mask when going out.
He asked the task forces to enhance inspection and strictly fine people who don’t wear masks in public areas or flout regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control as guided by the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities.
The mayor requested for tough punishment for those illegally entering Vietnam.
Under the official letter, Hanoi shuts bars, karaoke parlors and game shops from 0:00 on April 30 amid the quick coronavirus resurgence in the city.
Previously, the municipal Party Committee issued Official Letter No. 112-CV/TU dated April 27 2021 on suspending all festive activities and the weekend walking street as well as continue to limit unnecessary events and activities that draw large gatherings.
Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh urged the city to tighten the management of concentrated quarantine camps, especially quarantine hotels to avoid cross-contamination.
Steering Committees for COVID-19 prevention and control at district level are required to quickly trace and test those in close contact with confirmed cases.
The Chairman asked all agencies and units to strictly implement his dispatch.
