Under the document, COVID-19 has become complicated in recent days as more people have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 after coming into close contact with a patient in the northern province of Ha Nam. So far, Hanoi confirmed three new COVID-19 community transmissions.
A large number of people will return Hanoi after the four-day holidays, posing high risks of spreading the novel coronavirus in the community.
The city leader requested departments, branches and local authorities to continue strictly implementing the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s guiding documents as well as the city’s official letters on enhancing measures against the pandemic.
Mr. Anh required all people returning to Hanoi after the holidays to make medical declaration.
Anyone who shows signs of coughing, fever, shortness of breath, or other suspected symptoms of COVID-19 should go to the nearest medical facilities for timely instruction, he ordered.
Heads of units and agencies in the city must be responsible for medical declaration of their staff, and local authorities for that of the residents.
The municipal police is assigned to work with COVID-19 response teams to make a list of returnees after holidays, while disseminating COVID-19 prevention measures, imposing strict punishment to any violations.
Meanwhile, district-level and commune-level People’s Committees are tasked to strengthen communication on regulations of COVID-19 prevention and control among local residents.
