Accordingly, the Department of Transport (as standing agency of the Municipal Traffic Safety Committee) will take prime responsibility and cooperate with the Department of Education and Training, the Municipal Police Department, People’s Committees of districts, towns, and relevant units to launch the month; propose and report contents beyond the authority to the National Committee on Traffic Safety and the Municipal People’s Committee.
Previously, the National Committee on Traffic Safety granted Official Letter No. 372/CV-UBATGTQG on requesting Traffic Safety Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to assign Departments of Education and Training to ask education establishments, schools in localities to strengthen the popularization and education of Law on Traffic Safety in the school year of 2018-2019; and respond to the peak month for traffic safety for pupils, students to schools; request pupils’ parents to sign a commitment on obeying traffic safety regulations, especially wearing helmets for children on motorbikes; cooperate with functional agencies, local authorities to ensure traffic safety in school gate areas.
Police Departments of provinces and cities will ask forces to strictly carry out the direction of the Ministry of Public Security at Plan No. 175/KH-BCA-C08 dated August 22nd, 2018; coordinate with schools, education establishments to popularize Law on Traffic Safety among students; handle violation cases of traffic safety order on routes near schools; manage traffic flows in rush hours.
Political and social organizations will jointly strengthen the popularization and education of the law to raise children’s awareness and sense of law enforcement when participating in the traffic; enrich traffic knowledge and skills for children; coordinate with the sector of education and training to effectively implement the program “Traffic safety school gate”.
