Hanoi suspends festivals and activities on pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake (22:34 28/04/2021)
Under the document, over the past time, the authorities and people of Hanoi have taken drastic measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, boost socio-economic development, ensure national security and defense, and attained the remarkable achievements.
However, COVID-19 is continuing to spread around the world, especially in the neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia, leading to threats of border jumpers bringing the pathogen into Vietnam.
In an effort to maintain the success in the fight against coronavirus as well as protect public health, the municipal Party Committee asked the municipal People’s Committee and the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control to strictly implement Directive No. 31-CT/TU on April 3, 2020, regarding anti-COVID-19 measures, the Prime Minister’s Official Dispatch No. 541/CD-TTg dated April 23, 2021 on reinforcing COVID-19 precaution measures, and Announcement No. 81/TB-VPCP dated April 26, 2021 of the Government Office stating the PM’s conclusion at the meeting with key cabinet members on fighting the pandemic.
The task forces are commissioned to tighten the management of border gates to prevent illegal entries, strictly handle individuals and organizations violating COVID-19 prevention protocols, and perfect scenarios in response to the different developments of the disease.
Local people are required to closely follow the 5K message and wear face masks in public places. Special attention must be paid to ensuring safety for the upcoming holidays and the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the tenure of 2021-2026.
The municipal Party Committee ordered calling off festivals and pedestrian zones in the city, and restriction of non-essential events with mass gatherings. In case the events are held, preventive measures must be in place.
If COVID-19 infections are detected, contact tracing and quarantine must be promptly rolled out to curb the spread of the pandemic.
Party Committees and the Office of the municipal Party Committee, based on their functions and missions, are responsible for timely advising the municipal Party Committee on removing difficulties during the COVID-19 fight.
Meanwhile, the municipal Party Committee’s Education and Communication Commission and the Department of Information and Communications will be in charge of guiding the media outlet to strengthen dissemination on the situation of the pandemic.
