Hanoi considers raising Covid-19 alert to higher level (10:48 20/08/2020)

HNP - The Office of Hanoi Party Committee has released the conclusion in a meeting between the municipal Party Committee and Hanoi’s Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control on August 18.

Under the conclusion, the municipal Party Committee requested local authorities, socio-political organizations and the people to strictly follow instructions of the government and the city in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Additionally, local authorities and the community are expected to actively identify and participate in the isolation of suspected infection cases, avoiding possible outbreak in the community.
The Party Committee requested the Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control to provide instruction regarding preventive measures for each locality, adding the Covid-19 alert could be raised to a higher level.
Meanwhile, the city would continue to raise the public’s awareness and responsibilities in preventing the Covid-19 pandemic, including wearing face masks, refraining from mass gatherings, while the media is expected to provide accurate information on the pandemic in a timely manner.
Another priority is to enhance efficiency in the testing and identifying processes of people returning from Danang from July 15 - 29, which is set to complete on August 20; expanding PCR test for those with symptoms of cough, fever or difficulty breathing.
Once a new case is identified, the authorities would initiate the tracing process of people with close contact with the patient.
Hospitals, given its high risk environment, are requested to ensure safety requirements in their operation to avoid potential local transmission.
