Hanoi promotes OCOP and craft villages (21:01 31/10/2022)


HNP - On October 25, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 276/KH-UBND on the development of centers for creative design, introduction, promotion and sale of products under the One Commune, One Product Program (OCOP), and that of developing handicraft villages associated with tourism in Hanoi's districts and cities in the period until 2025.  


The plan states  the city’s expectation  that by the end of 2025, each district and town would develop at least one center for designing, creating, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products and craft villages associated with tourism.

According to the roadmap, by the end of 2023, the city would develop five models of centers for designing, creating, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, commodities of craft villages associated with tourism in several communes including Bat Trang (Gia Lam district), Duyen Thai (Thuong Tin district), Chuyen My (Phu Xuyen district), Phu Vinh (Cuong My district), and Duong Lam (Son Tay town).

In the period of 2024-2025, the People's Committees of the remaining districts will strive to build and develop centers for designing, creating, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, commodities of craft villages associated with tourism (at least 1 center/ District).

The development plan of each district and town will include at least 1 center for designing, creating and introducing OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism in order to create an environment for implementing activities to support industrial establishments.

In rural areas, Hanoi aims to support the production and business of craft villages and develop activities of creative design, introduction, promotion and sale of OCOP products, commodities of craft villages associated with the development of experiential tourism, contributing to economic restructuring in rural areas in the city; improve the value of handicraft products, build a chain of links from creative design, production - processing, product consumption (domestic and international tourist markets) on foundation for preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of craft villages in association with community-based tourism, agricultural and rural tourism in the circular economy. Thereby, it will contribute to the development and implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period; at the same time, creating a connection environment between artisans, young design team with entrepreneurial spirit, research institutes, specialized universities and international organizations; promote local cultural advantages and economic development aspirations of the community in traditional craft villages in the districts and towns of Hanoi.
