More efforts to combat nCoV-caused acute respiratory disease (11:11 05/02/2020)

HNP - The Hanoi Party Committee released Announcement No. 2469-TB/TU on February 3, stating the conclusion of its Standing Commission on prevention and control of acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV) in the city.

Over the past time, all levels and sectors have proactively focused on containing the spread of the nCoV. To cope with the complicated evolution of the disease, the Municipal Party Committee’s Standing Commission requested all-level Party organizations, authorities, Fatherland Front Committees to continue strictly implementing guiding documents of the Central level and the city. 
The announcement underlined the need for the city’s entities to  enhance communication campaigns to raise public awareness on the disease; promote people’s role and responsibility in ensuring health for their families and the community; drastically handle fake news and toxic information about coronavirus.
The Party Board of the Municipal People’s Committee is tasked to roll out plans and measures to prevent the spread of the novel virus, and prepare enough facilities, medicines and human resources for the epidemic. 
Under the announcement, functional forces are in charge of tightening surveillance to timely detect people suspected of being infected by the new coronavirus so as to apply forced quarantine on them. 
It is necessary to clean environment with disinfectant spray in bus stations, schools, hospitals, offices and public area to prevent the viral contagion; enhance inspection of disease prevention and control works in districts and hospitals. 
Meanwhile, the Department of Health will work with the Municipal Party Committee’s Communication and Education Commission and news agencies to strengthen the dissemination on the disease on mass media while coordinating with the Hanoi Capital High Command to prepare for the building of a field hospital.
The Standing Commission also asked the Department of Education and Training to allow students to take school break as guided by the Central level and the city. 
The Hanoi Police is responsible for coordinating with the Department of Tourism and relevant units to continue supervising and tightly managing entry of international passengers, especially those from epidemic-infected areas. 
The Commission for Education and Training will continue to further disseminate the prevention work, monitor and report the results to the Standing Commission.
