According to the mayor, based on the level of pandemic outbreak risk, the capital city has applied three color designations to localities for the application of different COVID-19 prevention and control measures so as to safeguard green zones (COVID-19-free zones), yellow zones (high risk areas) and reduce red zones (COVID-19-hit zones).
More effort will be made to speed up mass COVID-19 testing for all citizens in the social distancing period to timely detect and isolate coronavirus carriers from the community.
The city strives to provide the first dose of the COVID vaccine for 100% of people aged 18 and over citywide.
Special attention should be paid to strengthening communication on COVID-19 prevention and control measures, creating the best conditions for local people, ensuring social welfare and other essential needs.
Effective measures will be put in place to boost economic recovery and development in green zones and yellow zones and subsequently the entire city from September 15.
The mayor requested the strict enforcement of social distancing rules in high risk areas for 15 days to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, describing public support as a decisive factor in the success of the fight against COVID-19.
In low risk areas, local authorities are required to maintain production and business activities, give support for enterprises in removing difficulties due to the pandemic in parallel with effective implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
He requested more effort to ensure smooth transportation of necessities amid the application of social distancing rules.
Anh asked the Department of Health to release a plan on COVID-19 vaccination and mass screenings to soon deter community transmission.
People’s Committees of districts and towns are tasked to map out their own plans to protect green zones and reduce red zones. At the same time, the local authorities need to work with functional forces and organizations in conducting mass COVID-19 testing and vaccination in safe and effective manner.
The city leader ordered the Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the media strengthens communication to encourage local people to join hands with the municipal authorities in the COVID-19 battle.
Anh also urged the municipal police to create the best conditions for units which are allowed to operate during the social distancing period to avoid disruption of production chains and goods circulation.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s municipal committee and socio-political organizations will continue to call on the locals to observe social distancing measures, and timely deliver the support to people hit by the pandemic.
