Under the announcement, the city’s entities are requested to continue drastically implementing guiding documents of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the Prime Minister, the Hanoi Party Committee’s Standing Commission, the Ministry of Health and the Municipal People’s Committee on COVID-19 prevention and control.
The Departments of Information and Communications; Culture and Sports are in charge of strengthening communication in some foreign languages to raise public awareness on the disease.
It is necessary to guide local people and those coming from Iran, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong (China), Singapore, Italy and France before February 19 to isolate themselves for 14 days, and notify about the ailment by phone to the nearest health facilities or emergency line of the Ministry of Health if they have symptoms of respiratory infection.
The announcement underlined the need for news agencies to disseminate on the epidemic among locals so as to create the consensus in the fight against COVID-19 outbreak.
The city administration decided on class suspension for pupils from kindergarten to high school in public schools until after March 8, and those in vocational training establishments will return on March 2. Meanwhile, international schools are allowed to re-open on March 2 if they have confirmed their schools are safe and parents agree for their children to attend.
The Department of Education and Training will work with district/township People’s Committees to ensure safe environment and prepare full medical equipment as classes resume.
The Department of Health is responsible for opening training courses on isolation measures against COVID-19 disease in commune-level health stations and hospitals in the city as guided by the Ministry of Health, and preparing medical equipment for the COVID-19 prevention.
The Municipal People’s Committee also requested relic sites to clean environment and provide hand sanitizer to tourists.
District/township People’s Committee are tasked to continue strictly implementing isolation measures, and grasping the situation to respond to the epidemic’s development as guided by the Ministry of Health and the city.
