The plan identifies general goals and 8 specific objectives in domestic violence prevention and control. Regarding the common goals, all units and departments in the city will focus on improving the effectiveness of domestic violence prevention and control, creating changes in awareness and actions on the issues to gradually reduce cases of domestic abuse, while providing timely support for victims of domestic violence.
In addition, the city seeks that more than 40% of households participate in thematic talks on the prevention and control of domestic violence organized by the commune-level People's Committees in villages and residential groups. More than 50% of television program channels, the city's propaganda portal, and the web portals of districts and towns have a column on domestic abuse prevention and control, along with frequently updated information on the issue.
The city also aims to have over 70% of people at risk of domestic violence equipped with knowledge and skills on coping with domestic violence. Over 95% of victims of family violence have protection, legal aid and healthcare support. Over 80% of people who commit domestic violence when they are detected are counseled, provided with knowledge and skills to control their acts. Along with that, over 90% of districts and wards have population collaborators to carry out tasks on domestic violence prevention and control in the community.
Over 95% of communes, wards and townships maintain domestic violence prevention and control models. Over 90% of people directly involved in domestic violence prevention and control at all levels receive training in knowledge, skills and expertise on domestic violence prevention and control.
To accomplish the goals, the plan also sets out 7 groups of tasks and solutions to materialize the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State to building an equal, prosperous, progressive and happy family so that it is truly the cell of society... The city will strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and governments at all levels and socio-political organizations; promote propaganda to raise awareness of all levels, sectors, organizations, mass organizations, individuals, families and communities about domestic violence prevention and control in the new situation in order to create positive changes on awareness and action in the matter, gradually reducing the number of domestic violence cases, and promptly supporting victims of domestic violence.
