Hanoi allows more students to return to school (14:15 23/11/2021)

HNP - The Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 4118/UBND-KGVX on November 19 on authorizing the return of ninth grade students on the outskirts of Hanoi  to school from November 22.

Accordingly, the municipal People's Committee agreed with the proposal stated at Official Letter No. 3969/TTr-SGDDT dated November 17 of the municipal Department of Education and Training  on allowing students in 17 districts and townships which have not recorded any COVID-19 cases in the community in the past 14 days back to school from November 22.
Under the document, only ninth graders   are permitted to go to school. Students from other grades will still have to attend online schooling and kindergartens remain closed.
The 17 localities include Dan Phuong, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Chuonng My, Hoai Duc, My Duc, Phuc Tho, Me Linh, Soc Son, Thach That, Quoc Oai, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Thanh Oai, Phu Xuyen and Ung Hoa and Son Tay.
The municipal's Department of Education and Training has also proposed to have high school students back to school after being vaccinated.
Teachers who haven’t been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 would teach online only and in-classroom students will  attend classes  only in the morning or afternoon instead of the whole day.
To ensure safety for students, the localities and schools are required to strictly implement COVID-19 prevention and control rules in line with the interdisciplinary guidance.
During the process, the district-level Steering committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control will suspend in-person learning if there are more infection cases to ensure the safety of students and teachers.
Previously, the suburban district of Ba Vi was the first in Hanoi to allow its ninth graders to have in-person learning after six months of shutdowns.
