The event is expected to be held on December 11-13 at the Ly Thai To Garden.
The Folk Culture in Contemporary Life festival will feature booths displaying fine arts and handicraft products of Hanoi.
Also under the framework of the festival, visitors will enjoy the demonstrations of intangible cultural activities in modern life in the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake.
The festival aims to honor cultural heritages and folk arts of Hanoi and introduce them to local residents and visitors. It is expected to contribute to preserving and promoting the value of traditional cultural heritages in contemporary society.
Regarding the matter, the municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to work with districts of Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Hoang Mai, Ha Dong, Dan Phuong, My Duc, Phu Xuyen, among others, and relevant units to carry out the plan as scheduled.
The Department of Culture and Sports will cooperate with the Department of Health to enforce anti-COVID-19 protocols as guided by the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities.
The Department of Information and Communications is responsible for instructing the media outlets on the dissemination of the event.
The People Committee of Hoan Kiem District is told to work with the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Public Security to ensure safety for the event.
People’s Committees of districts joining the festival are in charge of coordinating with the Department of Culture and Sport to set up areas showcasing their traditional handicraft products.
