The ongoing 2024 Hanoi International Gift & Handicraft Fair (Hanoi Giftshow 2024) now features 450 booths from domestic and international handicraft businesses and production facilities.
The event has attracted over 17,000 visitors, both in person and online.
As the largest export-oriented trade fair for the handicraft industry in Vietnam, the Hanoi Giftshow 2024 lasts from October 10-13 at the National Exhibition Center of Architecture, Planning and Construction in Nam Tu Liem District.
The fair is one of the key events celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024) that supports businesses to enhance production and trade, foster commercial relations, and expand the market in 2024.
Hanoi is home to over 1,350 craft villages, with approximately 176,000 households, accounting for 45% of the total number of craft villages nationwide, said Nguyen Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
The products from these villages are diverse, beautifully designed, of high quality, and comparatively competitive both in domestic and international markets, he said.
Many of these products have been exported to high-demand markets such as Japan, the United States, the EU, Dubai, and Russia, he added
According to the deputy director, the Hanoi Giftshow 2024 presents an excellent opportunity for handicraft businesses and production facilities to showcase their products, particularly those that meet export standards for demanding markets such as EU countries. The event also provides a valuable platform for domestic and international companies to connect with buyers, expand their market reach, and form business-to-business partnerships.
"The 2024 Hanoi International Gift & Handicraft Fair reflects the city's commitment to fostering a favorable, efficient business environment, ensuring the sustainable growth of enterprises and production facilities," Thang said.
After 13 editions, the Hanoi Giftshow has emerged as a reputable export-focused handicraft fair in the Asia-Pacific region. It attracts a total of 5,500 booths from more than 2,450 enterprises and production facilities across Vietnam and over 30 countries showcasing handicraft products.
The previous fairs have welcomed over 130,000 visitors and generated thousands of sales contracts and agreements, including over 8,500 importers and international trade professionals. These business deals have significantly contributed to the 6-8% annual export growth in Vietnam's handicraft industry.
