A grand ceremony marks CPV’s 90th founding anniversary (09:33 06/02/2020)


HNP - The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, the National Assembly (NA), the State Presidency, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and Hanoi City jointly held a national-level celebration to mark the 90th founding anniversary of the CPV (February 3, 1930-2020).

The event saw the attendance of General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong; former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former State Presidents Tran Duc Luong, Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang; Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; former NA Chairmen Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung; and Chairman of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man.
 
Former and incumbent Party and State leaders, representatives of ministries, ministerial-level agencies and social organizations, heroic mothers, war veterans, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and labor heroes were also in attendance.

Among Hanoi’s leaders attending the event were Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the PCV Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Chung, member of the PCV Central Committee, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee; Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council; Dao Duc Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Nguyen Lan Huong, Chairwoman of the VFF’s Hanoi chapter. 
 
Opening the celebration, a special art program themed “Sang mai niem tin” (Forever shining trust) was held to show deep gratitude to the CPV and President Ho Chi Minh. 
 
In addition, the program aimed to praise the heroic revolutionary tradition as well as the sacrifice of Party cadres, members, soldiers and compatriots while  showing the admiration to the leading role of the CPV in building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
 
 
In his speech at the event, Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong recalled the process of founding, training, devotion and development of the CPV and highlighted its great victories over 90 past years.
 
He said, after nearly 35 years of renewal, the country has attained great achievements. Vietnam has tried its best to become a developing country with middle-income so far while its culture and society have been developed, people’s material and spiritual life has been improved with political and social security , national security and defense, independence and sovereignty have been firmly safeguarded, and position and prestige of the country in the international arena have been improved.
 
Vietnam has also joined almost all international organizations and become an active and responsible member of the international community. Recently, Vietnam was elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the second time.
 
According to the leader, the reality of the Vietnamese revolution over the past 90 years has proved that the Party’s correct and wise leadership is the decisive factor for all victories of the country.
 
Regarding international context and Vietnam’s current situation, he stated the entire Party, people and army need to do their utmost to overcome challenges so as to build a more prosperous nation.
 
He also underlined the need to build a pure and strong Party in terms of politics, ideology, morality, apparatus and personnel, revamp leadership methods, strengthen the close-knit relations between the Party and people, ensuring the Party's leadership in the cause of developing the country.
 
Party and State leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh
 
Previously, a delegation of leaders of the Party, the State and the VFF Central Committee paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs in Hanoi. 
 
The delegation included former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former State Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Tran Duc Luong; PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former PM Nguyen Tan Dung; NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; former NA Chairmen Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung; permanent member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat. 
 
The delegates expressed their gratitude to the late great leader, who was the founder and leader of the CPV. 
 
On the same day, a delegation of Hanoi’s leaders led by Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.
