Over the past years, the District Party Committee and administration have focused on directing the building of new style rural areas. By the end of 2017, the District recorded 20 communes meeting new style rural criteria.
Besides, the District has maintained and improved new style rural criteria in 20 communes and piloted an advanced model of new style rural criteria in Nghia Huong Commune.
During the building of new style rural areas, the District has considered the people’s satisfaction as a foundation. Local people have been well aware of their obligations, rights, and responsibilities in building new style rural areas. Many works have drawn the participation of various people.
Especially, Quoc Oai District has mobilized all resources in building national standard schools. After all, by the end of 2017, 39 out of 73 were recognized as national standard status, accounting for 67.1%. In 2018, the District strives to get eight additional national standard schools, increasing the number of national standard schools to 57, accounting for 78%.
In terms of vocational training, job creation, over the past three years, the District has created 8,900 new jobs for laborers, contributing to improving their living standards. In addition, the District has made greater gains in poverty reduction, rural environment, traffic infrastructure, etc.
Beside investment in infrastructure, Quoc Oai has focus on agricultural development towards sustainable and effective agricultural goods with high economic value.
The District approved the restructuring of crops and animal raising in 16 communes with the total area of 2,702.6 hectares; strengthened advanced technologies and mechanization in agricultural production, bringing high economic values.
According to Do Lai Luat, Standing Vice Chairman of the District People’s Committee, to promote the gained achievements, in the coming time, Quoc Oai District will carry out mechanism, policies for sustainable connection chains in agriculture.
Notably, the District strives to fulfill the set following targets: the total area of rice will reach from 4,300 to 4,400 hectares, including 2,500 hectares of high quality rice; the total area of fruits will reach 1,300 hectares; 6-7 concentrated fruit production areas will be established; per capital income will reach VND 50 million; over 70% of laborers will be trained; 100% of people will have access to clean water; etc.
