Hanoi leaders attend new school year opening ceremonies (15:40 06/09/2019)


HNP - Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai attended the opening ceremony for the new school year at the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted on September 5. Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy was also in attendance.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Thi Oanh, Headmistress of the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, said that in the previous academic year, the school achieved remarkable achievements as its students won 70 international and 100 national medals.
 
Namely, Tran Ba Tan won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiads with the fourth highest total score, and the maximum score of 40 points in the practical exam. Tran Xuan Tung also won the gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO). Meanwhile, at the 13th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), the gold medal went to Nguyen Manh Quan from this school, who was also honored with an absolute winner prize for his absolute scores, among others.

Addressing the event, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai expressed his delight at the school’s outcomes.
 
Hanoi has paid attention to education and training, and creating favorable conditions for teaching and leaning, he said, expecting that the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted would bring into full play its strengths to effectively innovate the education work, thus taking the lead in education scale and quality nationwide. 
 
The Secretary hoped that teachers would continue enriching their professional knowledge and skills to meet the requirement of the educational renovation work.
 
Each student needs to make more effort to gain achievements in studying, he noted, adding that he/she must act as an ambassador in promoting a civilized capital city.
 
Hai took the occasion to ask all levels, sectors and parents to continue paying special attention and join their hands to build an advanced and healthy education environment.
 
In the meantime, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang attended a celebration of the new school year at the Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School in Ba Dinh District.

The school was officially inaugurated in 2014 with a total of 20 classrooms for around 900 students. 
 
During the five-year period, the school has tried its best to become a leading unit in education and training of Ba Dinh District. Many students have also won high prizes in international and national competitions. 
 
At the event, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang beat the drum to kick off the 2019-2020 school year. 
 
She hoped that the school would continue making more effort to achieve further achievements in teaching and studying.
 
The new school year opening ceremony at the Tran Nhan Tong High School, Hai Ba Trung District drew the participation of Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council.
