The event will last until October 22nd, 2018.
The exhibition shows 150 outstanding products of 10 well-known artisans in a variety of colours, such as blue, brown, white, moss green, in both breaking and melting glazes.
Sophisticated works on display do not only show talent, creativity of traditional pottery artists but also demonstrate strong development of Bat Trang pottery village throughout the history, contributing to diversifying Viet Nam’s pottery items.
At the opening ceremony, Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the the Centre for Scientific and Cultural Activities of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam highlighted the display as a connectivity of Ha Noi’s cultural values between tradition and modernity, tangible and intangible culture, introducing a Ha Noi with rich cultural characteristics.
The event drew outstanding pottery artisans, such as Tran Do, Vu Cuong, Le Van Khanh, Ha Van Long, Pham Dat, Do Tung Mau, Pham The Anh, Tran Nam Tuoc, and Nguyen Danh Tu.
At the ceremony, Mr. Ha Van Lam, a representative of people in Bat Trang pottery village, said that Bat Trang ceramic village has established and developed along with Thang Long - Ha Noi.
Many generations of Bat Trang potters have worked hard to preserve the art of making ceramics by hand. They make sophisticated artworks, meanwhile they have also developed the trade of making pottery in modern ways.
