Hanoi Party Committee holds meeting over socio-economic performance in H1 (16:21 29/06/2022)


HNP - On June 28, the Executive Committee of the 17th Hanoi City Party Committee held the 8th Conference to discuss the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the first 6 months of the year, and objectives for the remaining period.



The municipal Party Committee is set to discuss and give opinions on seven important topics during the two-day meeting, including adjusting the city’s 2022 public investment plan and updating and the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period; report on the allocation of public investment capital and disbursement results of the city's 2022 public investment plan; Report on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of the year, and key tasks in the last 6 months of 2022; decentralization of state management; Report on the implementation and progress of the auction of land use rights in the city; draft action plan of the City Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 of the Politburo on directions and tasks to develop Hanoi until 2030, with a vision to 2045; and the housing development program in Hanoi for the period of 2021-2030.

In addition, the City Party Committee also seeks opinion from delegates over a number of issues, including report on results of 01 year of implementing 10 working programs of the 17th Hanoi Party Committee; peport on Party building work in the first 6 months of the year, directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2022.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said after 6 months, the results of disbursement of public investment in Hanoi as of June 16 were not encouraging, only 17.4% of the assigned plan and lower than the national average. In which, the disbursement rate of investment plan for implementation of city-level investment projects was only 14.5% of the plan.

Dung called for frank discussion among delegates about shortcomings and responsibilities from individuals and organizations.

In addition, he expected solutions to address bottlenecks in the disbursement of public funds, with the goal of accelerating the construction progress and serving as a growth engine for Hanoi’s socio-economic development.

Overview of the event

For the socio-economic development plan of the last 6 months of 2022, Dung expected delegates to point out shortcomings that should be addressed at city- , district- and ward levels; resolve social issues such as pandemic fight, environmental protection, land and natural resources management, water provision, anti-flooding, plan to address traffic congestion, and public order.

Regarding the housing development program in Hanoi for the period 2021-2030, Dung highlighted the quality of its drafting, which had received opinions from the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hanoi city for later finalization.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that the issues discussed at today’s meeting are of significant to the development Hanoi not only in 2022, but also many years to come. He suggested that the participants to uphold the sense of responsibility, promote democracy, focus on research, discuss, and contribute profound and relevant ideas for the development of the city.
