Recently, Duong Lam Ancient Village has attained impressive achievements in tourism development thanks to promoting the value of the site on the media and internet.
From 2014 to 2019, the village has served about 700,000 tourists, including more than 30,000 foreigners, with the total revenue of over VND7.5 billion.
The tourism development has created more jobs for the locals and improved their living standards while making significant contribution to socio-economic development in the locality as well as promoting the image of Duong Lam - the land featuring many valuable historical and cultural values.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy affirmed the historical values of Duong Lam.
The village has a rich treasure of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, such as King Phung Hung Temple, King Ngo Quyen temple and tomb, Doai Giap Communal House, Mong Phu Communal House and hundreds of ancient houses, he added.
According to him, the issuance of Decision No. 4851/QD-UBND to recognize Duong Lam Ancient Village in Son Tay Town as a tourist destination expressed the State’s and the city’s recognition of the locals’ contribution to preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritages associated with local tourism development.
Quy took the occasion to request the local authorities to continue conserving and promoting the village’s traditional cultural values and building a safe and friendly and hospitable tourist site.
