The event was co-chaired by Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council; Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Council; Phung Thi Hong Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council.

Addressing the event, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said that the year of 2019 plays an important role in fulfilling targets and missions in all fields.
In realizing the year of improving the operational efficiency of the political system, Hanoi has focused on taking drastic actions to enhance administrative reform, tighten administrative discipline and effectively carry out socio-economic and political missions, she added.
In the first half of the year, the city’s GRDP rose by 7.21%. State budget revenue reached 50.2%, up 12% year on year. Hanoi ranked the ninth among 63 provinces and cities in the country in the 2018 provincial competitiveness index (PCI). Foreign direct investment (FDI) capital was estimated at US$5.3 billion, taking the lead in FDI attraction, among others.
In an effort to fulfill the targets set by the Municipal People’s Council, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc urged the Municipal People’s Council to have more discussions about the Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI), enhancing construction order on agricultural and forestry land, land clearance, capital disbursement for public investment projects, fire and explosion control so as to offer more measures for settlement.
Also, the Municipal People’s Council will consider, discuss and approve one regular resolution and 14 specialized resolutions on the city’s socio-economic development.
Additionally, the Municipal People's Council will conduct the personnel work under its jurisdiction while exercising its functions of direct supervision via interpellation activities.

Ngoc requested deputies of the Municipal People’s Council to raise the sense of responsibility and give their constructive opinions on concerned issues, meeting the expectations of voters and local residents.
