The event saw the attendance of former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; Politburo member, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Education Vo Van Thuong; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai, among others.
Head of the Ha Noi Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education Nguyen Van Phong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu were also in attendance.
The festival, taking place from March 15th – 17th, 2019, is a useful playground for reporters, journalists and the public.
In addition to large pavilions organized by the central and local press agencies, the festival also includes a wide range of significant activities.
Delegates visit the pavilion of Ha Noi Journalists Association.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the National Press Festival 2019 will continue to be a meaningful event, contributing to enriching Vietnamese press life.
The festival is a chance to honor the revolutionary press as well as intensify exchanges among journalists, he stressed.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked press organizations, press management agencies and journalists to carry out major missions, including: strengthening the communication on the country’s concerned issues, dissemination of good people and good deeds to create the trust and optimism in the society.
Among the tasks include enhancing the management of press activities and social network; promoting the role of press in the fight against degradation, negativity, “self-evolution”, “self-transformation” and wrong allegations; and focusing on the training of journalists.
