The event was jointly held by the Embassy of Italy in Viet Nam and the Ha Noi People’s Committee. It was designed to deepen the relationship between Ha Noi and Italia, the Italian Embassy in Ha Noi as well as a part of activities to celebrate the 45th founding anniversary of Viet Nam - Italy diplomatic ties (1973-2018).
In attendance were Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam Cecilia Piccioni, member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam Cecilia Piccioni said that the event was organized on the occasion of the 45th founding anniversary of Viet Nam - Italy diplomatic ties. It included a wide range of cultural activities, such as music performances by famous singers, fashion design exhibitions and Italian famous dishes, etc.
Expressing her delight at positive changes in the Viet Nam – Italy relations, the Italian Ambassador highly appreciated the support of the Ha Noi People’s Committee for cultural and social events held by the the Embassy of Italy over the past time.

In reply, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that currently, Italy is the fourth largest trading partner of Viet Nam in the EU, while Viet Nam is the largest trading partner of Italy in ASEAN.
Ha Noi is currently home to 21 Italian investment projects with total capital of more than USD 38 million. The city earned 142 million USD from exports to Italy while Italy is Ha Noi’s 15th largest tourism market.
