Addressing the ceremony, Director of Department of Transport Vu Van Viet said that this project was approved by the Ha Noi People's Committee on the Decision No. 2606/QD-UBND dated May 25, 2016, aiming at easing traffic congestion on the Ring Road 1.
The steel flyover, with a length of 232.4 m and width of 12m, will be built at a total cost of over VND166 billion. It is planned to be completed in 2016.

On his speech at the ground-breaking ceremony, Chairman Chung expressed his sincere thanks for the care and support of Prime Minister, the leaders of the government, ministries, agencies, sectors on implementation of the solution to reducing traffic congestion in the capital city.
He also hailed efforts made by Department of Transport and relevant units in completing procedures to start work on the flyover. He asked the units to speed up the construction and ensure safety and quality.
