The launching ceremony drew participation of Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan, Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Industry Gennady Svidersky and representatives of foreign embassies in Ha Noi.
Organized annually in Ha Noi since 1991, Viet Nam International Trade Fair (VIETNAM EXPO) offers opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to promote export, expand market and contributes to realizing the Government’s commitment on international integration.
The Vietnam Expo 2016 themed "Enhancing regional and international economic connection" takes place from April 13 to 16, offering around 600 stalls of over 500 Vietnamese and international enterprises. It focuses on machineries and equipments, construction and electrical construction materials, electronics and information technology, raw and auxiliary materials, food and beverage, household appliances, health care products and services. In an effort to introduce potentials and promote products, leading firms of Viet Nam bring their most high-quality and modern goods to the fair, such as industrial and electronics appliances, clean energy equipments, household plastic products, agricultural products, food and beverage.

In 2016, Belarus is selected as Honorary Country of Vietnam Expo. The Belarusian mission including 50 enterprises headed by First Deputy Minister of Industry Gennady Svidersky join the fair, offering their high-tech machineries, equipments and processed food, and bilateral investment - trade cooperation projects.
Another highlight of the fair is Viet Nam–Korea Product Development and Design Support Pavilion, where Vietnamese and Korean design experts offer free advice to enterprises for market research, idea development, product, brand and packaging design.
The organizing board of the fair also sets up a pavilion to provide information about investment environment in Viet Nam and introduce potentials of four provinces Kien Giang, Yen Bai, Ninh Thuan, Hung Yen to international investors and producers.
Furthermore, a series of side activities for trade promotion are held during the event, especially Viet Nam Export Promotion Forum on April 14 at National Convention Center (11 Le Hong Phong Street). The forum focuses on export potentials and opportunities, export policies and their effects, and experience exchange in the field of trade promotion.
