In a bid to achieve the targets for 2020, Hang asked departments, agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter, district-level Steering Committees to focus on several key missions.
Regarding agricultural development, Hang asked for strong measures to achieve the yearly growth target of at least 4.12% in 2020.
She underlined the necessity to strengthen the restructuring of agriculture; expand hi-tech and organic agricultural production; tighten control of slaughtering houses, food safety and hygiene; enhance prevention of diseases, especially African swine fever and avian flu; promote trade promotion to expand markets for farm produce; and boost the production and consumption links among organizations and individuals, among others.
District-level authorities need to improve the operational quality of agricultural cooperatives; make plans on large concentrated cultivating areas; and timely deal with difficulties for farms, she noted.
Hang also called for more efforts to ensure that seven other districts and 15 communes meet the criteria set for new-style rural areas.
Concerning improvement of farmers’ living standards, Hang underscored the importance to promote agricultural extension, industrial promotion and vocational training; increase the quality of human resources and attract more laborers to develop rural economy; step up the implementation of the city’s poverty reduction programs; guide farmers to apply advanced technologies in farming; further develop industrial clusters and craft villages to create stable jobs for farmers.
In parallel with the above-mentioned tasks, the Party official assigned relevant parties to increase communication activities to raise awareness of officials, Party members and people on purpose and importance of the One Commune - One Product (OCOP) program while requesting for due attention to realizing the goal of having other 1000 OCOP products in 2020.
