Chairman of Hanoi People’s Council checks on election preparation process at Me Linh district (21:48 13/05/2021)

HNP - Chairman of the Hanoi People Council and Head of the city’s election committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan on May 13 led a delegation to check the preparation process for the upcoming general elections, as well as anti-Covid-19 measures in Me Linh district. 

The delegation inspects preparations for the upcoming elections.

According to a report from the election committee of Me Linh district, so far, the preparation process has been on track as scheduled. As of April 13, people’s committees of wards and villages have posted electoral rolls at public places, with the number reaching over 160,000. 
As of April 26, the district’s election committee has announced list of candidates for deputies of the district’s People Council for the 2021-2026 term and those of the ward’s People Council. 
Meanwhile, Me Linh district has not recorded any Covid-19 cases in the community, while launching 957 Covid-19 task forces in the community to carry out the tracing process for suspected Covid-19 cases. 
Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen highlighted the efforts of the district regarding the two tasks, noting the Covid-19 situation remains complicated, he requires drastic measures to prevent potential spread of infections. 
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan urged the district to continue strictly follow instructions from the central government and the city in Covid-19 fight, while preparing plans to ensure effective election process in the locality.
