Hanoi leaders pay last respects to former Deputy PM Truong Vinh Trong (07:29 22/02/2021)


HNP - A delegation of the Hanoi’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Hanoi chapter, led by Politburo member, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Head of the delegation of National Assembly deputies of Hanoi Vuong Dinh Hue, paid tribute to former Deputy PM Truong Vinh Trong on February 21 at the National Funeral Hall.

Joining the delegation were member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; PCC member, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Deputy Secretary of the the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; and others.
 
Writing on the book of condolences, on behalf of Hanoi leaders, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue expressed the deep sorrow at the passing of the former Deputy Prime Minister.
 
He emphasized that during 60 years of his career, former Deputy PM Truong Vinh Trong was always a wholehearted and responsible official who made every effort to excellently fulfill all assigned tasks.
 
“The Party committee, authorities, armed forces and people of Hanoi will forever remember Trong’s great contributions to the national construction”, he wrote in the funeral book.
 
He also conveyed deep sympathy to the late official’s family.
 
Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue writes in the book of condolences.
 
Truong Vinh Trong (also known as Hai Nghia) was born on November 11, 1942, in Binh Hoa commune of Giong Trom district, the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre. He resided in Giong Trom district’s Luong Quoi commune.
 
He was an alternate member of the 6th-tenure Party Central Committee; a member of the Party Central Committee in the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th tenures; Secretary of the Party Central Committee in the 9th and 10th tenures; a Politburo member in the 10th tenure; and a deputy of the 8th and 11th National Assembly. He was former Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission and former Deputy Prime Minister.
 
He passed away at 3:25am on February 19 due to serious illness and old age.
 
Trong joined the revolution in January 1960 and became a member of the Party on October 25, 1964.
 
Throughout over 60 years of engaging in revolutionary activities, he was conferred with the Ho Chi Minh Order, the 55-year Party membership badge, as well as many other noble orders and medals.
