Hanoi to strictly handle those making dishonest medical declarations (07:29 22/02/2021)


HNP - Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee and Head of the municipal Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control Chu Xuan Dung chaired an online meeting with the city’s departments, sectors and districts on February 19 on COVID-19 response in the area.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh, from February 17 to 2:00 pm on February 19, Hanoi reported no new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases. Since January 27, the capital city has confirmed 35 cases of COVID-19 community transmission.
 
As many as 2,207 returnees form Hai Duong’s Cam  Giang district from January 15 were identified, of these, 2,096 were tested for coronavirus, of them, the results of 1,562 people came back negative and those  of the rest are pending.
 
The local task forces also traced 36,962 people returning from other localities of Hai Duong province, and conducted tests for 14,112 cases. As a result, 1,279 obtained negative results and the rest are pending.
 
Due to the complicated situation of corona disease, district-level authorities have strictly taken measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
 
Particularly, Hoang Mai district ordered the closure of 92 religious and relic sites, streetside stalls and karaoke parlors to curb the pandemic. 655 eateries are required to strictly follow regulations on COVID-19 prevention.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Pham  Xuan Tien, Vice Director of the Department of Education and Training, said schools in the city allow their students to stay home until the end of the month, as a precautious measure to  prevent the risk of infection and spread of COVID-19.
 
Meanwhile, Nguyen Khac Hien, Director of the Department of Health, asked the task forces to monitor all returnees from coronavirus-hit-regions, as well as those from quarantine camps. 
 
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung emphasized that the global COVID-19 pandemic has been still complex as confirmed cases and deaths have been rising.
 
Over the past time, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, under the instruction of the municipal Party Committee, have taken drastic actions to prevent infection from spreading in the community, he added.
 
“Hanoi donates VND2 billion (US$ 86,894) to help Hai Duong fight against COVID-19”, said  Dung.
 
Warning that Hanoi remains at high risk of COVID-19 infections, with the flow of workers who are returning to the city after the lunar New Year (Tet holiday), the official asked the city’s entities and localities to continue following COVID-19 response instructions by the Party Central Committee and the authority of Hanoi.
 
He urged the health sector to complete the testing for all returnees from Hai Duong hotspots on February 20.
 
Regarding those making fraudulent medical declarations, Vice Chairman Dung requested the task force to strictly punish them.
 
Regarding the testing for returnees from COVID-19-hit regions, he emphasized the city would screen those coming from Hai Duong’s Cam Giang district since February 2, then taking samples for all other cases from Hai Duong and 11 high risk provinces and cities.
 
He requested the monitoring teams to inspect the implementation of anti-COVID-19 measures in an attempt to prevent further outbreaks, asking close management of quarantine camps to avoid cross contamination among F1 cases. 
 
Dung also ordered the guideline of "four-on-site" (on-site quarantine; on-site treatment; on-site facilities, on-site human resources) to the pandemic fight.
