The Hanoi Party chief expressed his delight at the good relationship between Vietnam and Singapore, especially in trade exchange, investment cooperation and tourism, while congratulating the ambassador on her successful tenure in Vietnam.
He stated that Hanoi has enhance cooperative ties with Singapore in a number of areas, including cultural exchange, smart city building, and urban greenery development, among others.
The host attributed the success in the two countries’ relations over the past time to the important contributions of the Singaporean Embassy and Ambassador Wong Siow Ping.
Briefing the guest on the outstanding achievements in the city’s socio-political performance 2020, Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue stressed that Hanoi would continue keeping comprehensive coordination with Singapore, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Singapore relationship.
For her part, Ambassador Catherine Wong Siow Ping said that as Vietnam and Singapore have well controlled the COVID-19 pandemic, the two countries have cooperated and shared experiences in combating the pandemic, and boosting socio-economic development.
Currently, the Singapore Embassy is working with ministries and branches of Vietnam to complete rules for trade and travel between the two countries, she added, hoping for the support from Hanoi authorities in implementing the rules.
The diplomat noted that despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Singapore has still been Vietnam's largest investor, which proves that Singaporean investors will continue to pour their money in Vietnam, and pay more attention to creative industries.
Singapore stands ready to share experiences in smart city and greenery development with Hanoi, she emphasized.
Welcoming the ambassador’s proposals, Hanoi Party Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue wished her to continue serving as a bridge to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries.
