The event was attended by Politburo members and Secretaries of the Party Central Committee: Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai; Head of the PCC’s Commission for Economic Affairs Nguyen Van Binh.
In attendance were PCC members: President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man; Head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac; Head of the PCC’s Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang.
From Hanoi, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen along with leaders of the city’s entities attended the teleconference.
Giving a report at the conference, PCC member and Standing Deputy Head of the PCC’s International Affair Commission Vo Van Dung said that the Party’s Internal Affair sector has comprehensively fulfilled assigned tasks.
Particularly, the sector has served as advisory agency in elaborating and issuing many important documents on internal work, anti-corruption and judicial reform, while jointly handling economic violations that were serious, complex and garnered a lot of public attention.
Special attention has been paid to giving contribution to draft documents and personnel work for Party Congresses at provincial level for the term 2020-2025 and the 13th National Party Congress.
The Internal Affairs Commission has attained remarkable achievements that have contributed to successfully realizing resolutions adopted at the 12th National Party Congress and Party assemblies at all levels for tenure of 2015-2020.
Dung attributed the results to the sound leadership of the Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and provincial Party Committees, as well as effective coordination among agencies, organizations and local internal affair commissions.
Over the past years, Party’s Internal Affairs Commission of Hanoi has comprehensively implemented the tasks under the close supervision of the municipal party committee. The city has ensured safety for key locations, political, cultural and sport events in the area, at the same time, taking strong measures to defeat all conspiracies and destructive activities of hostile and reactionary forces.
Hanoi has closely cooperated with judicial authorities to deal with complicated cases public concern, and promptly settle disputes, complaints and denunciations at grassroots level.
Concluding the meeting, Tran Quoc Vuong, standing member of the PCC’s Secretariat, valued the achievements that the Party’s Internal Affairs division has achieved which also contribute more generally to the overall development of the nation.
Concerning six major missions in the time to come, Vuong requested the Party’s Internal Affairs Commission to focus on effectively realizing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws and policies related to internal task, anti-corruption, and judicial reform.
As the Party's strategic advisory body in the areas of internal affairs, anti-corruption and judicial reform, the Commission needs to continue to reform and innovate for the improvement of the quality and effectiveness of its work in the future, he noted.
Reiterating the direction of General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, who is head of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Vuong asked for greater contribution by the Internal Affairs sector to handling corruption cases.
He also underscored the importance of the enhancement of human resources in the area to fulfill tasks in the new situation as best as possible.
At the meeting, standing member of Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong handed over the Labor Order, First-Class, to the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs. The First-Class Labor Order was also given to Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Vo Van Dung in recognition of his contribution to anti-corruption work.
