Interchange connecting Belt Road No. 3, Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway inaugurated (11:07 11/01/2021)
The event saw the attendance of Politburo member, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Head of the city’s delegation of National Assembly deputies Vuong Dinh Hue; member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s municipal committee Nguyen Lan Huong.
The project aims to shorten travel times on the route and fully exploit the investment efficiency of Belt Road No 3, the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway and Co Linh Road. It is also expected to help ease traffic congestion and boost the city’s socio-economic development.
The interchange, located in the districts of Long Bien and Gia Lam, links two routes: a 1.5km stretch linking Long Bien-Thach Ban with the expressway, and another 620m stretch connecting Belt Road No 3 and the expressway.
The project, with investment of more than VND402 billion (US$17.5 million), was approved in June 2020 and completed two months ahead of schedule.
Addressing the event, Hanoi mayor Chu Ngoc Anh praised the effective work of local authorities and relevant units in completing the project ahead the schedule.
In order to promote the work’s operational effeciency, Mr. Anh urged the city’s authorities and relevant forces to put the interchange into use effectively and ensure proper management.
