Chairman of Soc Son district People’s Committee Pham Van Minh said so far, the obnoxious odors from waste have vanished, along with the efficient transportation of waste that has limited the leakage of lycheate.
Nguyen Van Chinh, a citizen of Nam Son commune, said the people are grateful that Hanoi’s leaders that have contributed to a better environment for the people.
Chinh expected more support from the city to turn Nam Son into a worthy place for living.
Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said the city expected to resolve the issue of environmental pollution related to Nam Son waste treatment complex completely, while speeding up the construction process of a waste to electricity plant.
The Hanoi Party chief criticized Soc Son district for not fulfilling their responsibilities in resolving issues under their administration, while expecting local authorities to ensure the legitimate rights of local people living near the Nam Son waste treatment complex.
Hue requested Soc Son district to ensure safety of Nam Son waste treatment complex and soon complete the site clearance process and compensation for affected households by early 2021.
Regarding the construction process of a waste-to-electricity plant, Hue requested project owner and contractors to speed up the process and ensure the pilot implementation right in the first quarter of 2021.
