The event was co-chaired by Politburo member Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Phi Thuong, member of the municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Ung Hoa District Party Committee; and Dao Tu Hoa, member of the National Assembly Committee on Law.
Joining the meeting were Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha; Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications and Chairwoman of the Confederation of Labor Bui Huyen Mai; Director of the municipal Department of Public Security Major General Nguyen Hai Trung; Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung, along with 200 voters of Ha Dong District.
At the meeting, the voters listened to the NA deputy delegation’s briefing on the 10th NA sitting session. They also raised concerns over various issues related to Law on drug prevention and fight, textbooks and education curriculum reform, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway project, environmental pollution in Day and Nhue rivers, among others.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung praised the voters for their ideas and constructive opinions, and explained several problems under his jurisdiction.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue highly spoke of the local voters’ concerns over issues that directly impact people’s lives.
Regarding the Cat Linh-Ha Dong line of the urban railway project, Hue said that the city set a goal of bringing it into operation soon with a view to reducing traffic pressure in the city center.
The metro line is scheduled to start a trial run in early December as a requirement before it is put into commercial operation, he informed.
The Secretary stressed, in the 2020-2025 tenure, the municipal authorities will review all projects on green parks and markets, and plan to build green, clean, beautiful public areas and promote modern trade.
Concerning environmental pollution in rivers running through Hanoi, Hue said that the Hanoi’s government has paid special attention and adopt many solutions to deal with the problem, while speeding up the construction of the wastewater collection system and investing in wastewater treatment plants in an effort to improve the quality of environment.
However, during the implementation process, there have been difficulties in planning and coordinating with relevant units, the municipal Party chief noted, expressing his hope that voters would continue to support the city's solutions.
