At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha informed voters of the city’s socio-economic performance in 2020 and targets for 2021; report of Hanoi People’s Committee in settling voter’s petitions from previous session.
There were five recommendations from voters during the meeting, including request for the city to repair the road across the Nhue river dyke system at Cu Khue and My Hung villages; the strict handling of enterprises discharging waste water illegally to Nhue river, in turn negatively impacting the life of the people in the surrounding areas; the renovation of areas surrounding Nhue river; and building a waste treatment plant in the area.
Voters at My Hung village also requested the city to speed up the site clearance and compensation processes for the people in the area of the My Hung urban area, as the project has been suffering delay for a long time and affected their life.
Voters also asked for reconsideration of the compensation packages for the people, which is different between those in Cu Khe and My Hung villages.
Additionally, they suggested that the city should focus on preserving cultural and historical sites, which have been gradually damaged over the course of time; requesting project owners to hand over sites for villages to build schools.
Chairman of Thanh Oai district People’s Committee Bui Quang Sang said the local authority has received all the suggestions and will submit to competent authorities.
