Hanoi leaders attending the event included Politburo member Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Head of the Hanoi’s delegation of National Assembly deputies; Chu Ngoc Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee; Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Head of the municipal Commission for Education and Communication; and Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Head of the municipal Commission for Mass Mobilization.
Among leaders of Son La Province were Nguyen Huu Dong, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; and Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Son La People’s Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh highlighted the province’s natural potential and strength to develop tourism sector.
In addition, Son La has been building 21 trademarks of its farming produce and developing 147 supply chains of safe agricultural and aquatic products, he added.
According to Khanh, Son La attracted more than 2.5 million tourists last year, including 113,000 international visitors. The total revenue from tourism sector was estimated to reach VND1,900 billion.
Participating in the program, visitors have a chance to enjoy traditional songs and dances performed by artists of Son La province.
On the sideline of the event, as many as 50 photos have been displayed in an exhibition so as to introduce tourism potential, cultural identity, safe agricultural products of Son La to Hanoi people and tourists.
• Previously, the Son La People’s Committee held a tourism promotion conference, with the participation of hundreds of travel firms from Son La and Hanoi. Hanoi’s Department of Tourism and Son La’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed an agreement to boost travel demand between Hanoi and Son La Province for the period 2020-2021.
