Hanoi relegates of the National Assembly holds meeting with local agencies (22:16 19/10/2020)


HNP - The delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Hanoi held a meeting with representatives of the municipal People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and others, on October 19, ahead of the 10th sitting of the National Assembly.   



At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu said despite the severe Covid-19 impacts, Hanoi’s economy remains on the growing trend. 
 
In the third quarter of this year, the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) expanded with a growth rate of 3.05%, higher than the rate recorded in the second quarter, resulting in a GRDP growth of 3.27% in the first nine months of 2020, or 1.54 times higher than the national average. 
 
Additionally, other key economic indicators have also been positive, including the state budget revenue, consumer price index, as well as sufficient supplies of basic necessities in the city. 
 
According to Suu, the city has pushed forward with greater efficiency in urban management, providing clean water, protecting environment and promoting new-style rural areas. 
 
Suu also noted as the city is focusing on ensuring social security, there have been positive support from the community for families of social beneficiaries, while activities in fields of culture and education have also been carried out effectively. 
 
Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong said the recommendation and suggestion of the people have been summarized into seven groups of specific requests. 
 
This included the expectation of more drastic measures against the Covid-19 pandemic, while issuance policies and supporting programs for the people and businesses affected by the pandemic; strict punishment for  embezzlement cases  in the purchase of medical equipment during the pandemic; addressing loophole in the involvement of private sector  in  providing    health services; solving complaints in land dispute and acquisition; among others. 
 
Voters also requested government agencies to supervise thoroughly the Hanoi’s urban railway project, the North - South expressway and railway projects to ensure efficiency and feasibility. 
 
At the meeting, Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said these issues are the top priorities of Hanoi’s leaders, expecting more efforts from related agencies in solving all issues. 
 
Hue informed the city has carried out 58 events, including the patriotic emulation congress 2020 - 2025, 60th anniversary of Hanoi - Hue - Saigon  sisterhood, 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi and Hanoi’s 17th Party Congress, which have been highly regarded by the public.
