At the reception, Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated the outgoing Thai Ambassador on his successful term of office in Vietnam.
He highly spoke of the ambassador’s significant contributions to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand in general, and Hanoi and Bangkok in particular.
He also highlighted the strong development of the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand and ASEAN countries in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vietnam and Thailand have successively undertaken the ASEAN Chair and performed well in the roles, he said, adding that both of them have contributed to reinforcing the partnership among ASEAN countries, as well as that of between the ASEAN with partners around the world.
Thai Ambassador to Viet Nam Tanee Sangrat thanked Party organization and authorities of Hanoi for supporting him during his term.
He expressed his honor to work with the Hanoi administration in successfully organizing a wide range of cultural and people-to-people exchange activities, contributing to fostering the relationship between the two countries and the two cities.
He showed his joy at Hanoi’s impressive achievements during its development process.
Saying that many Thai businesses hold strength in environment, especially wastewater treatment, the diplomat wished to expand the cooperation with Hanoi in the field.
Acknowledging the Thai ambassador’s initiatives, Secretary Hue informed Hanoi has paid special attention to improving the quality of environment in parallel with preserving its cultural and historical values during development.
Hanoi is ready to welcome Thai investors in fields of urban infrastructure development, water supply and drainage, and wastewater treatment, and others, he emphasized.
The Hanoi Party chief briefed the ambassador would continue to make more contributions to the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand, as well as Hanoi and Bangkok and other Thai localities.
