From Hanoi, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy, who is the deputy head of the municipal Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control, together leaders of the city’s entities attended the meeting.
According to a report of the Ministry of Health, since July 23, Vietnam has recorded 451 cases of COVID-19 infection, including 46 imported cases, in 15 localities.
The coronavirus outbreak in the central city of Da Nang has been put under control step by step. The spread of the virus among the community has been limited and the number of new infections has dropped in recent days. Most of fatalities related to COVID-19 had underlying conditions.
Concluding the meeting, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the central and local authorities for their effective measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic over the past time.
Phuc stated that localities, such as Hanoi and the city of Da Nang, have effectively conducted massive coronavirus testing to detect infections in the community.
He asked localities to ensure the sufficient supply of medical equipment for front liners, especially health workers, military and police forces, while working out effective prevention strategies, both economically and medically.
The PM took the occasion to laud the localities and the education and training sector for their effort in successfully holding the 2020 national high school graduation exam.
