Long Bien District’s Party Committee holds the 4th congress (21:27 06/08/2020)

HNP - The 4th congress of the Party Committee of Long Bien District, for the 2020 - 2025 term, officially opened on August 5, with the participation of 292 delegates representing more than 16,483 Party members in the district.

The event saw the attendance of member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang; members of the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board: Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter Nguyen Lan Huong, and head of the municipal Party Committee’s Organization Commission Vu Duc Bao. 
According to the political report presented by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee Duong Hoai Nam, over the past five years, the Party organization, authorities and people of Long Bien have made strong endeavor to effectively realize resolutions of the previous congress of the district Party Committee, and achieved remarkable achievements across all spheres. 
From 2015 to 2020, the district’s economy continued its positive growth and the economic structure made a positive shift.  Average annual budget revenue hit VND7.763 trillion, while annual budget expenditure was VND1.786 trillion. 
In addition to socio-economic development, Long Bien has attached importance to socio-cultural development over the past term. The local authorities have built 34 schools and repaired 18 others with the total cost of VND2.945 trillion. So far, 64 out of 76 schools (or 84.2%) have met national standards. The rate of poor households has reduced form 0.83% to 0.1%. 
With outstanding achievements in all fields, the district Party Committee was awarded First-Class Labor Medal by the President in 2018, for the second time.

Addressing the event, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang congratulated Party organization, authorities and people of Long Bien on their achievements over the past five years. 
She asked the district to continue fully tapping into its potential and advantages to boost economic development, with the focus on trade and services sector. 
It is important to improve planning work, especially zoning plan for the riparian areas in the Red river in line with the Hanoi capital construction master plan, aiming to develop Long Bien in a harmonious and modern manner. 
The Party official requested the local authorities to efficiently use investment resources, enhance environmental protection, accelerate site clearance, mobilize the participation of the entire political system in urban management work, strengthen socio-cultural development, transform and improve the quality of education, ensure job security, and take care of policy beneficiaries, among others.
The district should focus on building the strong and transparent Party organization, Hang suggested, asking for due attention to effectively realizing resolutions of the Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum (11th and 12th tenure) on the Party building and rectification, and cadres and party members' example-setting responsibility in association with strengthening following and studying of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style.
The Deputy Secretary urged Long Bien to comply with instructions of the Party Central Committee and the municipal authorities on COVID-19 fight, and implement the dual goal of fighting the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development. 
Hang also expressed her belief that the congress will elect outstanding members to the district Party Committee’s Executive Board for the tenure of 2020-2025.
