Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, and Politburo member, deputy head of the sub-committee in charge of preparing documents for the upcoming 13th congress of the Party Hoang Trung Hai sent baskets of flowers to congratulate the congress.
The event saw the attendance of Nguyen Manh Cam, former Politburo member, former Deputy PM; Nguyen Duc Kien, former member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Pham Quang Nghi, former Politburo member, former Secretary of Hanoi Party committee; Hoang Van Nghien, former PCC member, former Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee; Dao Duc Toan, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee; Hoang Trong Quyet, Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Inspection Commission; Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Council; and Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee.
According to the political report presented by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan, over the past five years, Tay Ho has achieved comprehensive achievements cross all spheres.
The district’s economy has continued its positive growth, attaining an annual increase of 14.1%. The economic structure has made a positive shift, in particular, trade-service sector accounts for 66.14%, industry for 33.53% and agriculture is 0.33%.
As many of 1,186 enterprises were established from 2015 to 2020 in the district. Tax collection for State budget reached VND15.554 trillion, 3.6 folds higher than that of the previous tenure.
In addition to economic development, Tay Ho has attached importance to socio-cultural development. Since 2018, the district has had no households living under the poverty line. 23 out of 25 public schools (or 92%) have so far met national standards.
Due attention has been paid to the Party building and rectification, with the aim to improve the leadership and operations of Party cells.
Addressing the event, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dao Duc Toan congratulated Party organization, authorities and people of Tay Ho on their achievements over the past term.
Agreeing with the shortcomings and weaknesses pointed out in the congress’ political report, Toan urged the delegates to discuss and seek solutions for them.
The official asked the district Party Committee to focus on five key tasks for the new tenure, including following instructions of the Party Central Committee and the municipal authorities, staying on high alert in the fight against COVID-19 and boosting socio-economic development in new situation, delivering the Government’s support to those hit by the coronavirus disease in transparent manner, and ensuring social welfare.
Tay Ho should fully tap into its potential and advantages, especially those in tourism and culture to develop sustainably, Toan suggested, asking for more attention to improving growth quality, increasing efficiency and competitiveness of economic sectors, and enhancing application of advanced technologies in agricultural production, among others.
Toan requested the district to focus on maintaining political security and social order, while effectively realizing instructions of the municipal Party Committee on improving weak Party organizations and dealing with complicated issues in the area.
The congress elected 37 members to the district Party Committee’s Executive Board, for the tenure of 2020-2025.
