Representatives of Co.opmart Hanoi and Big C Thang Long said over the past few days, the number of customers has been increasing but all super markets are still able to meet their demands.
Under the instruction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the complicated Covid-19 progression could lead to higher demands for basic necessities, so all retailers have increased their inventories by 2 - 3 times compared to previous periods.
Meanwhile, all super markets have now adopted Covid-19 preventive measures to ensure safety for customers and their staffs.
Vice Minister Do Thang Hai said recent local Covid-19 infections showed the complicated nature of the pandemic, requesting all retailers to remain alert and strictly follow guidance from the government in the Covid-19 fight.
Vice Director of Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the Department has instructed retailers to store at least 194,000 tons of goods for at least three months.
Lan added with experience from the previous outbreak, people are not rushing to stockpile basic goods and products as before, so there were no changes in prices in the market.
