Speaking at the event, Chairwoman Nguyen Lan Huong said, with efforts and determination of the capital’s Party organization, authorities and people, Hanoi has gone 105 days straight without any COVID-19 community transmission. However, in the context of complicated development of COVID-19, the capital city recorded two more cases of COVID-19 infection.
Soon after the cases were detected, the VFF’s municipal chapter called for organizations and individuals to contribute to the pandemic prevention and control, Huong said.
According to her, in the previous period, the VFF’s Committees at all levels received donations worth more than VND228 billion from organizations, businesses and individuals, showcasing the unity and trust in the government and local authorities.
The Chairwoman called on the people to continue supporting the campaign by contributing money, necessary things and ideas.
The VFF’s Committees at all levels will positively realize instructions of the Party Central Committee and the municipal authorities, increase communication activities to raise public awareness about COVID-19 fight in the community, and jointly implement the dual goal of combatting the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development, Huong pledged.
At the ceremony, six organizations and individuals gave donations to COVID-19 battle. Specifically, Wefinex charity group donated 100,000 face masks and 20 boxes of hand sanitizer worth VND152 million; Huong Viet Sinh Company with 6,500 masks worth VND52 million; Hoa Trung Construction Company with 2,000 masks worth VND10 million; Hanoi’s businesses bloc with 50,000 masks and 5,000 bottles of water, 2,000 antiseptic bottles worth VND650 million, among others.
