Five years on since the implementation of reforming legal aid process, the awareness of local agencies and organizations, individuals regarding legal aid have been improved.
The majority of agencies tasked with providing legal aid have set up action plans and cooperating with Legal Aid Agency if needed.
Meanwhile, the Council for Law Dissemination and Education Coordination has actively carried out various forms of dissemination of laws and regulations, focusing on applying IT in the process. This is particularly important during the Covid-19 pandemic and brought great efficiency in raising people’s awareness during the Covid-19 fight.
Hanoi held 3,768 events disseminating laws and regulations for 187,707 participants; seven competitions regarding legal knowledge for 397,985 participants; issuing 3.5 million documents regarding law dissemination and 16,251 published on the internet.
So far, 546 out of 584 districts, wards, communes and villages are considered to be knowledgeable on legal matters, or 93.5%, including those with 100% such as Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Long Bien, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Gia Lam, Quoc Oai, Tay Ho, Thanh Xuan, Chuong My, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Son Tay, and Ha Dong.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son requested all related agencies to continue promote laws and regulations regarding the Covid-19 fight under various forms, so that the people are equipped with knowledge regarding Covid-19 preventive measures.
All districts, wards and communes are expected to remain alert and fully prepared in preventing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
