At the press conference, Vice Director of Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the program is among a series of activities under the campaign “Vietnamese people buy Vietnamese products”. After nine years of implementation, the voting programs have been expanded in scale and changed in voting methods for greater access to consumers and enterprises.
In 2020, the program would be launched in Hanoi, accordingly, from August to September 30, the organizer would announce a list of products for online voting at the website address of binhchonhangviet.com.vn; in September, the voting would be held at public places, trade fairs. The organizer also made available a hotline for any question which is 0241081; from October 5 – 9, the organizer would disclose the result of the voting.
Notably on November 6, there would be a ceremony honoring favorite Vietnamese products in 2020 and marking the 90th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam Fatherland Front at Ly Thai To statue. From November 6 – 8, the organizer would hold an exhibition of favorite Vietnamese products at the Octagon House at Ly Thai To park.
A new change in this year’s event is the voting for 12 groups of products and services, in which eight group of products consist of consumer goods; industrial products; construction and furniture; chemical products; education and training; craft products; agricultural products; one commune one product (OCOP) products; and four groups of services: banking; tourism, hospitality and catering services; communication - IT; transportation.
Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Hanoi Nguyen Anh Tuan said in 2019, 105 enterprises from 11 fields took part in the event with 205 products and services, up 41.9% in the number of enterprises and 4.1% in the number of products against the 2018.
After one month of implementation, the event recorded 72,743 votes for products and services, up 73.5% year-on-year.
