The event saw the attendance of Politburo member, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue; member of the Party Central Committee, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam Le Minh Tri.
Hanoi People's Procuracy was established under Decision No. 01/QD dated December 31, 2016 of the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam.
The city’s prosecutors has exerted every effort to fulfill their professional duties and political missions, contributing to maintaining political security and social order in the capital city.
As a result, nearly 10,000 denunciations and reports on crimes are received and settled yearly. 99% of the total is prosecuted.
With the remarkable achievements, the People's Procuracy has received noble rewards from the Party and State, such as the “Labor Hero in the Renovation Period” title, Second-Class Labor Medal, Third-Class Independence Medal, among others.
Addressing the event, Secretary Hue congratulated the sector on the achievements over the past 60 years.
The outcomes in exercising prosecution functions and overseeing judiciary activities have contributed to maintaining political security and social safety; ensuring legal compliance, protecting protect legitimate rights and interests of the people, and strengthening the fight against corruption, the official added.
He asked for more efforts to better perform their assigned missions, especially building a strong and pure Party organization and raising the responsibility of Party cadres and members to set good examples.
The municipal People’s Procuracy should innovate its working approach and put in place effective measures to fulfill professional duties; enhance judicial reforms; give opinions on building and perfecting the legal system, and serve as an advisory agency in crime prevention, anti-corruption, and settlement of arising problems related to political security and social order, Hue suggested.
Hue asked the sector to reinforce close co-ordination with Police Department and People's Court in criminal investigation, prosecution and adjudication.
