Hanoi presents gifts worth nearly US$6.4 million to national contributors (09:31 22/07/2020)


HNP - According to Deputy Director of Hanoi’s Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Quoc Khanh at a press briefing on July 21, as of July 17, the city authorities have delivered gifts from the President to policy beneficiaries citywide on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947-2020).

Particularly, a total of 345,152 gifts worth VND149.6 billion (roughly US$6.4 million) will be given to people from across the city who contributed to the nation on the special occasion.
 
As of July 17, nearly VND21.9 billion (over US$935.000) was raised to the gratitude fund, meeting 99.9% of the plan. The municipal authorities have offered 3,604 savings passbooks worth over VND4.2 billion (US$179,500), upgraded 70 monuments with the cost of VND44.3 billion (US$1.8 million), and built 304 houses worth more than VND11.8 billion (US$504,000) for those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution.
 
Districts in collaboration with relevant agencies provided free health examination and medicine to almost 15,000 contributors, with the cost of nearly VND2.4 billion (US$102,500).
