The event saw the attendance of Le Hong Son, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, Head of the municipal Steering Committee.
According to a report presented by Colonel Vu Hong Ky, Deputy Secretary of the Police Department, in the first six months of the year, despite many difficulties and challenges, all-level Steering Committees 138 have taken initiative in crime prevention and fight while strengthening the movement of the entire people protecting national security.
Between January to June, the number of social evils decreased by 22.7% compared to the same period last year. 85.5% of social crimes and 100% of serious cases were investigated.
During the action month for drug prevention in 2020 (from June 1 to 30), police forces at all levels have been uncovered 372 cases arresting 564 offenders. A total of 124 addicts have been sent to compulsory detoxification facilities.
Due attention has been paid to taking various comprehensive preventive measures at flashpoint of drug crimes.

Making conclusion at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son asked all-level Steering Committees 138 to focus on preventing and strictly handling all crimes, especially organized crimes, drug-related offenses, and usury.
The official asked to launch more campaigns to crack down on crimes and ensure social security and order during national events.
Concerning drug prevention and control, Son urged units and localities to make a list of drug addicts so as to provide them drug detoxification treatments.
At the meeting, the municipal Steering Committee 138 honored 19 collectives and 18 individuals having great contributions to the effort over the first six months.
