During the five-year period, Thach That has focused on completing five major missions, three breakthroughs and 12 key targets, and gained comprehensive achievements cross all spheres.
Total production value is estimated at VND25.2 trillion (US$1.07 billion) this year. Annual economic growth rate averaged 14.92% from 2015 to 2020. Per capita income in 2020 is expected to reach VND70 million (US$2.991), twice the figure of 2015.
Targets fulfilled or exceed
According to a report of the district People’s Committee, the total industrial value by 2020 is estimates to fetch over VND17.5 trillion (US$747 million), posting an average growth of 15.5% a year. Many industries and craft villages are expected to see high inter-annual increases this year, such as mechanical engineering up by 17.1%, wood processing industry up by 18.1%, food processing industry up by 16.5%, and others up by 13.2%.
For the above-mentioned targets, Thach That has effectively realized Project No.05 on developing industrial sector and craft villages in the district for the 2016-2020 period.
At the same time, due attention has been paid to traffic infrastructure development, land clearance and environmental protection in craft villages and industrial clusters.
The local authorities have established and expanded six industrial clusters in accordance with Decree 68/ND-CP, provided loans to households to expand their production, and increased communication activities to introduce the district’s key industrial products.
In addition, Thach That has enhanced the application of advanced technologies in agricultural production, crop restructuring and livestock development. As a result, total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery sector in 2020 is estimated at more than VND1.7 trillion, posting average annual growth of 3.4%.
Great efforts have been exerted to carry out the National Target Program on building new style rural areas. With the participation of the whole political system, after over ten-year implementation, the district has made positive changes in rural areas.
Many large-scale farms have been established in communes of Yen Binh, Tan Xa, Can Kiem, Kim Quan, Lai Thuong, Ha Bang, among others. The district has also set up five hi-tech agricultural production models and six supply chains. By the end of 2017, all 21 communes in the district fulfilled all criteria set for new style rural areas. Thach That is striving to become a new style rural district this year.
Tapping into potential to develop the district towards a green urban center
In addition to economic development, Thach That has mobilized available resources to boost socio-cultural development. The movement “All people unite to build cultural life” has been deployed widely, and attained remarkable results. By 2020, 88.5% of families and 80% of villages will maintain and earn cultural family title.
Promoting the achievements, Thach That will continue bringing into full play its advantages for better development in the time ahead.
More efforts will be made to transform the growth model, strengthen economic restructuring, increase value of trade and service sector and improve competitiveness of industrial products, aiming to ensuring fast and sustainable development.
The district will continue improving the efficiency of rural and urban planning management, promote the building of advanced new style rural areas, tighten the management of natural resources and improve response to climate change, better the quality of environment, and create a premise to turn Thach That into a green urban area.
