According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh, Hanoi leads the country in terms of the number of science and technology organizations. The capital also takes the lead in the number of research products as well as the number of international publications. Thus, sci-tech activities have made important contributions to the capital city’s socio-economic development.
He believed that with the sci-tech potential, Hanoi would develop further in the time ahead, while noting that the city needs to offer preferential policies to attract more investment in the field of science and technology.
Hanoi should fully tap into its advantages to turn startups to become a new economic force in the city, Dinh suggested.
The MoST leader also asked for due attention to historical, cultural and traditional values in long-term sci-tech development strategy.

Meanwhile, Minister Chu Ngoc Anh said that the MoST will work with Hanoi to map out longer term development policies, aiming to boost sci-tech development in the following years.
However, Anh stated that the city’s sci-tech development is still not commensurate with its potentials and advantages.
He underlined the necessity for Hanoi to focus on innovating scientific research programs, take a business-first approach to devise policies for sci-tech development.
The Minister also praised the idea of establishing "Hanoi’s Initiative Network" to mark the city’s 17th Party congress and the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.
Making conclusion at the meeting, Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said that the city aims make science, technology and innovation the major driving force for the city’s socio-economic development.

Hanoi also strives to become the country’s leading city in promoting and supporting enterprises in technological innovation.
Taking the lead in investment attraction in the field of science, technology and innovation, application and development of technology is the city’s obvious goal.
To achieve the goals, Hue hoped that the MoST will continue to support Hanoi in working out the science, technology and innovation development strategy of Hanoi by 2030.
Hue called on the MoST to cooperate with Hanoi in developing the sci-tech potential, perfecting policies to attract human resources in science, technology and innovation, and dealing with concerned issues and improving the management of state bodies on science and technology.
“Hanoi pledges to collaborate with the MoST and related ministerial agencies in infrastructure development and investment attraction in science and technology”, the municipal Party chief emphasized.
