Reviewing performance of mass mobilization (10:03 15/07/2020)

HNP - The Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and Party Committee of the Ministry of Justice jointly held a national teleconference on July 13 to review the performance of mass mobilization in grassroots conciliation activities.

The event was co-chaired by Politburo member, Head of the PCC’s Mass Mobilization Commission Truong Thi Mai; Secretary of the PCC’s Secretariat, Chairman of the VFF Central committee Tran Thanh Man; Secretary of the PCC, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh; PCC member, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long; and Vice Head of the PCC’s Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Phuoc Loc. 
From Hanoi, PCC member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Head of the municipal Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyen Thi Tuyen, and Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son were also in attendance. 
Remarkable achievements
Giving a report on results of grassroots reconciliation, Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Tinh said that the Grassroots Reconciliation Law was passed on June 20, 2013, by the 8th National Assembly and took effect from January 1, 2014. 
After six-year of realization, the grassroots reconciliation work has affirmed its important role in social life, he added.
According to Tinh, by the end of 2019, a total 96,605 reconciliation teams were set up in villages and civil groups, with more than 600 thousand conciliators. 
Local authorities have paid special attention to enhance capacities of the conciliators, and creating favorable conditions for grassroots reconciliation. 
Over the past years, the reconciliation teams nationwide have handed 707,945 civil disputes (or 80.9% of the total). 
Tinh also underscored the importance of grassroots reconciliation in improving the efficiency of mass mobilization, making significant contribution to disseminating guidelines and policies of the Party and State. 
Hanoi rolls out model “Reconciliation Teams with Five Good Performances”
Addressing the conference, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son said over the past time, Hanoi has worked hard to enhance grassroots reconciliation activities. 
Notably, the models of Reconciliation Teams with Five Good Performances” have operated since 2003, with the aim of timely deal with incidents, he stressed.
Son highlighted the cooperation among local authorities, VFF’s Hanoi Committee, social and political organizations and people in the reconciliation work.
The official also proposed relevant parties to expand the models cross the country and timely honor outstanding conciliators.
Practicing “effective mass mobilization” in grassroots conciliation
Addressing the event, Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai asked for concerted coordination among the VFF, the Justice sector, the People's Court and local bodies in grassroots reconciliation. 
More effort should be made to reinforce a reputable and enthusiastic reconciliation teams so as to effectively conduct the task, Mai noted.

She wished to see positive changes in the reconciliation work, aiming to reduce the number of conflicts  in the community and consolidate the national unity bloc. 
Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long said that in the time ahead, the Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Justice sector, the People's Court and the VFF will continue with close collaboration to better performance the mass mobilization, contributing to improving the quality and efficiency of the conciliatory task.
